AIP TESTIMONIES -- Guadalajara

FROM: Stephanie (17), Karen (16), Milli (15), Cathy (13) Guadalajara

In order to get some AIP points to attend the regional teen camp, we teens decided to learn a few songs for our Home’s weekly Bible class. We had never fully participated in the Bible class before but we were determined to get our points. Having only one afternoon to practice, we quickly threw together a few songs. Although some of us don’t speak Spanish, we did our best to memorize the words. When the time came for us to sing, we gave it our best shot and even though we all thought that it didn’t turn out so well, the Active Members really enjoyed it and mentioned how nice it was that there were still young people in this world who sing about the Lord and who are willing to share their time and talents with others. One of our most faithful Active Members, who has been participating in the Bible classes for several years, prayed a special prayer for us teens that we would always be close to the Lord and serving Him in The Family.

After the class we teens realized that it wasn’t just about the points but more importantly it was about getting involved with witnessing and really getting out of ourselves and our own little world. We also realized how much fun it was to be doing something different and how getting to know the Active Members on a more personal level could be really rewarding. All that to say we had a BLAST and look forward to doing more witnessing and Activated related outreach.

We love you and you are in our prayers. We have a testimony that we hope will inspire you and show you what wonderful miracles our God can do! This testimony we are sending has to do with the AIP (Activated Incentive Program) for the camp in October. One day while we were out witnessing trying to get points for the camp, the Lord had something more important in mind. We entered a shop that was sort of concealed. To get to it you had to climb a few flights of stairs and then go to the very corner of the shopping strip. We then met a very sweet couple; we told them about what we were doing and asked if they could help. They told us that not long before, they had gotten a CD card from one of our other members. After asking a few questions and giving it a little thought, they decided that they would subscribe. We were thrilled that they agreed to subscribe! We then prayed with them and witnessed to them for a short while before leaving. A week later we dropped by and while we were there his wife began to tell us about how a week before we had come, his mother had died and then a few days after, his brother passed away and a few days later his sister. His wife then proceeded to tell us that we had come at the right time, and that God had sent us because He knew that they were really going through a difficult time. They both really liked the Activated Mag and were really inspired with it. She told us that they wanted to start attending our bi-weekly Bible class and Activated meetings. We are still in contact with them and are hoping to see them at the classes during the week. We hope our testimony has been an inspiration to you and Lord willing we will see you at the camp in October.

Much love from Santiago and Mike

FROM: BEN, TERESA & CHERI--Guadalajara

It was a busy day! We had school, dishes, singing practice and dinner to make, plus we had to fit in the Activated class. At the last minute we were informed we had to do a skit, the class was on Heaven so we decided to do the "Sophie the washerwoman" skit. By the time we wrote the lines and translated them, we only had five minutes left to rehearse.

We memorized the lines in the car on the way to the class (Only one of us is fluent in Spanish.) But thank the Lord it went well and it touched people's hearts. Even though at first it seemed like it would come out as a flop, it turned out to be a success! Thank the Lord for the keys and the spirit helpers that are there whenever we need them! GBY!!!!!
